Carolyn Cox

Carolyn is a Chartered Accountant and holds Certificates in Personal Financial Planning.

Carolyn qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and moved to Hampshire shortly afterwards, when she joined Rothman Pantall & Co., becoming a Partner of the Firm in 1993 having taken a break from her career to have two children.  She is the Firm’s acknowledged expert in all types of investment business, including retirement planning, personal tax planning and personal investments.  She also advises businesses on all aspects of general finance and tax planning, as well as on Pension Schemes and Life Insurance matters.  She was one of the first accountants to be adjudged as a “Competent Individual” for investment advice by the ICAEW, based on her wide experience of financial matters.

Together with Tracey James, she is a founding Director of RP Financial Planning Limited and holds The Chartered Insurance Institute’s Advanced Financial Planning Certificate.

Carolyn’s main areas of expertise are:-

Richard Showan

Richard is a Chartered Accountant and a member of The Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Richard joined the Firm as a Trainee in 1981 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984, becoming a salaried Partner in 1986 and a full Partner in 1991. He has a particular interest in business taxation and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1989. He specializes in business tax and tax planning in general and advises on corporate structures, business purchases and sales, raising business and personal finance, and property development/investment.

A keen sportsman, Richard is a fully qualified and experienced Rugby Union referee with the Hampshire Rugby Union Referees’ Society, and a keen follower of Lancashire Cricket and Blackpool FC.
